Gríma Irmudóttir is an
#NUSoC MFA Candidate in Documentary Media whose work explores personal stories that illuminate societal issues. She often draws on her Icelandic roots, exploring the connections between people and nature.
Recently, she spoke at a screening of her film "The Day Iceland Stood Still" (2024) at the University of Toronto's Rotman Documentary Insights event.
Irmudóttir was the Associate and Archival Producer for the film about that fateful Friday, October 24, 1975, when "90 percent of Iceland’s women walked off their jobs and out of their homes... tired of the gaping inequity between the value of women’s labour and women’s wages."
