Fireball Island Game Design + Concept Video — In 2010, Fireball Island creator Bruce Lund approached me and my creative partner, for ideas on relaunching his 80s board game after a homemade online version I created started to gain traction. Lund was looking for ideas on relaunching his 80s classic, and I created a concept demo for Fireball Island expansion packs. While others suggested adding electronics, my position was that Fireball Island is a game that should be playable "even if the power goes out,” and that we should stay true to its unplugged physics-based roots. After Lund sold Fireball Island to Restoration Games, our expansion pack concept resurfaced in their 2018 reboot, raising over $2.5M in its first hour on Kickstarter. They even referred to me as “Expansion Pack idea man Jay Huddy” in their updates. Years later, we created a private Fireball Island board on Roll20, blending realism with pulp exotica, complete with animated elements that bring the tropical island to life....
