On Monday, MMI was honored to host alumnus Jimmy Rane ‘64, President/Founder/CEO of Great Southern Wood Preserving, as our Capstone Leadership Speaker. Mr. Rane focused his address on a moment 250 years ago in American History—Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death” speech delivered at the 2nd Virginia Convention on March 23, 1775. “Believe me, it takes courage to stand for the right things,” he told the audience. With additional Rane family members in attendance (Greg, James, Trip, Miller & Leo), the event’s culmination was presenting the Anthony J. Rane Future American Warrior Award to Andrew Harvey of Parrish, FL. Enrolled in the Army ROTC Early Commissioning Program, Cadet Harvey boasts a 3.5 cumulative GPA and serves as Bravo Co. Platoon Sergeant. He is also the ROTC Operations SGM, part of the honor guard and a volunteer firefighter in the First Responders Program.
