A Florida police officer made a daring rescue after an unmanned boat came dangerously close to striking its operator, who had been thrown overboard just moments earlier. The wild incident unfolded on Monday after the boater departed from Marina Jack in Sarasota. According to Sarasota Police, a larger vessel suddenly cut in front of the boater, prompting the man to overcorrect while attempting to navigate the wake before he lost control and was ejected from his boat. The unmanned craft then began circling at roughly 40 miles per hour, narrowly missing the boater, who was struggling in the water without a life jacket. Officers with the Sarasota Police Marine Unit responded to the call for help quickly, aiming to stop the out-of-control vessel before it could cause serious harm.
