“Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God.” -Psalm 84:3
Build your nest in the LORD, when you do this, you won’t have to constantly seek out the presence of God, rather you are already dwelling in it. Jesus and the New Testament writers emphasis this saying pray ceaselessly, abide in Christ, and rejoice always. There’s peace in His presence; there’s security in staying. When your heart makes its home at the altar, you begin to live from a place of rest, not striving. Don’t just visit the presence of God—dwell in it. Often times we’re in a season of building, waiting, wandering, or wondering; seasons where we aren’t sure what we’re going to do next. This is certainly true for the summer out of school or after graduation. Wait on the LORD, settle your spirit in His nearness, make your requests be known to Him, but most importantly let God work in your life. Surrender control to Him...
