On Coca-Cola’s 139th birthday, Gallaudet University is proud to unveil a groundbreaking new video campaign—a first-of-its-kind collaboration between Gallaudet students and The Coca-Cola Company. At the heart of it all? A brand-new ASL name sign for Coca-Cola—inspired by the brand’s iconic ribbon and deeply rooted in Deaf cultural expression. Over eight months, our students worked closely with Coke’s team—guided by Gallaudet’s University Communications department—to blend linguistic research, community feedback, and visual storytelling into something powerful. The result: a reimagining of Coca-Cola’s legendary Hilltop ad, this time in American Sign Language. It’s not just a campaign. It’s a celebration of identity, language, and the future of inclusive branding. Happy Birthday, Coca-Cola!
