Quick Vs Slow: Understanding how hard the ball is hit, and the speed of the runner, gives you to a chance to make a decision. Do you need to be Quick to release or can you Slow down. No not every ball or runner requires you to be quick to release, so there is no need to rush. It’s also not a good look when the runner is safe at 1B because you thought you had more time than you really did.
