When Richard Baca (Edu’71) told his mother he was accepted to CU Boulder, she replied, “Ah, que bueno jito. ¿Dónde está Boulder?” which translates to, “That’s good news, my son. Where is Boulder?” 🏔️ What started as an unfamiliar place became Richard’s second home — and the beginning of a Buffs legacy. Encouraging his brother Bernal (A&S’75) to apply set off a journey spanning three generations, from first-gen students to doctoral degrees.
