When I saw @Maybelline NY’s new Grippy Serum at @Ulta Beauty, I immediately thought is Maybelline doing skincare!? OR is this a primer? I was intrigued..So naturally, I had to pick her up! When I got home, I realized it reminded me of @pointofview. This was my first time really using the Maybelline’s serum (I’ve had POV and tried several times), and when I put her on—it was not what I expected. The final effect on skin the glow and the grip is really what made me think of this comparison. Are these dupes? Absolutely not! Maybelline is for my beauty queens on a budget who want that grippy, makeup prep serum feel. She transitions from a smooth serum to a much more tacky primer. POV Beauty, on the other hand, is skincare-first. More nourishing, hydrating ingredients, and definitely designed to be used before makeup.
