Allow us to break it down for you ☝️👁️👄👁️🤌 Jelissa Myers (MSc ’25), a recent graduate in Nutrition Science and a classically trained dancer, stepped in to help us *literally* break down the movement science of breaking it down. Using our motion capture system in the Musculoskeletal Analysis Lab, we analyzed the intricate coordination of muscles and joints required to perform the samba whisk. And if her samba skills weren’t impressive enough, Jelissa was also featured on the front page of the May 15 issue of the DeSoto Times-Tribune, where she shared her journey to earning her master’s degree. #samba #motioncapture *for entertainment purposes only; not intended to capture scientific data.
