Did you know that Swedes have enjoyed these heart-shaped and crispy waffles since the 1870s? It’s about time you try them! 😋 Grab your (heart-shaped) waffle iron, and get ready for a treat! 💛 Ingredients (5 waffles): 50 g butter 180 g plain flour 1 tsp baking powder 200 ml milk 200 ml cold water ½ tsp salt How to: 1. Melt the butter and leave it to cool. 2. Add the flour, baking powder, salt and water to a bowl. Mix it into a smooth batter. 3. Gradually whisk in the milk and the melted butter. 4. Preheat the waffle iron and grease it (both sides!). 5. Fill the heated iron with batter (¾-1 dl) to bake your first waffle. 6. Cook the waffles until deep golden brown and crispy. 7. Serve immediately with jam, fresh berries, whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream. Do you prefer savoury waffles? In that case, a waffle with sour cream, raw onions and roe might be just what you need! 👉🏼 A trick for making the waffles extra crispy is to use carbonated water (non-flavoured of course). 🌱 ...
