But did you know the coat hanger hook is actually a Swedish invention? 🇸🇪 Well, the early version of today’s hanger, the wire hanger, is believed to have been invented by American Albert Parkhouse in the 19th century. However, it was Johan Pettersson, a third-generation nail maker and wire drawer in Sweden, who crafted the coat hanger hook in the 1920s. 🛠️ Johan attached a bent nail to a stick and ta-da – the coat hanger hook was born! 💡 Pettersson's family business, Pettersson's Ironworks, was founded in Hillerstorp in south Sweden.
