It’s officially peak season for saguaro cactus blossoms! 🌵🌼 Here are some of our favorite facts about the Arizona state flower:
🌵Saguaros bloom when they’re around 7-feet-tall (that’s about 30-65 years old!)
🌌 Saguaro blossoms only bloom at night
🍈 Their smell is similar to overripe melons
🦇 They’re pollinated at night by the Mexican long-tongued bat and lesser long-nosed bat
🏜️ When the flowers mature into a fruit, they’re eaten by coyotes, javelina, birds and other desert animals
