1️⃣ When kids have screens, toys or homework at the table while eating, they can’t listen to their bodies telling them if they are hungry or full. This can lead to overeating, undereating or not eating at all.
2️⃣ Mealtimes are a perfect opportunity to spend quality time together as a family. And you can't connect with one another if you're distracted.
Setting limits can be hard—but keep in mind they are used to teach, not punish or control. As kids are still learning, it’s normal for them to test the limits. Be prepared for some resistance at first.
Be clear about what you expect. Let them know you understand they might be used to eating with certain items at the table, but it's important to eat without distractions so we can listen to our bodies.
