Northland Shopping Centre in Melbourne was sent into lockdown after a violent brawl broke out between rival gangs, some armed with machetes. Emergency services rushed to the scene just after 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Up to 10 males were involved in the fight at an outdoor food court. Terrified shoppers ran for cover, sheltering in locked stores including Kmart, Myer, and Smiggle. One man in his 20s was seriously injured and taken to hospital. Two males, including a 15-year-old boy, have been arrested. Police recovered one machete but confirmed no firearms were involved. The centre remains an active crime scene.
