Over 1,000 professional footballers in Colombia have voted for strike action after failing to reach an agreement with the Colombian Football Federation and Dimayor league on nine key issues.
A total of 1,221 players from the men’s first division, the men’s second division, and the women’s league voted in an assembly led by ACOLFUTPRO, with 87.4% (1,067 players) opting to strike.
Their demands include fair player statutes, improved health insurance, TV rights participation, and stronger protections against discrimination and harassment.
#FIFPRO stands in solidarity with ACOLFUTPRO and the footballers fighting for a fairer future.
