Visual Postcards Japan Pt.1 (Kyoto) 🌸

I have been BLOWN away by the beauty of Kyoto and wanted to share some highlight views from my visit.
I asked for cherry blossoms and boy did I see them. The timing could not have been better.
Whilst visiting Kodaiji Temple, I saw a painting by a Japanese artist of some cherry blossom, and with it, she wrote a beautiful analogy of what the cherry blossom meant to her.
The message I read was that the cherry blossom tree endures the bitter of winter and at its conclusion blooms to its fullest and most beautiful.
It puts its entire energy into making the stunning flower that is so revered around the world and is adored by all that witness it.
And after that, a rich and healthy leaf grows for the remainder of the year, before it falls and endures the winter, leafless, once more.
