On This Day 60 years ago, Paul "Hawkeye" Hawkins became the second - and hopefully last! - driver to plunge into Monaco's harbour, ten years on from Alberto Ascari's crash at exactly the same spot. 🏊‍♂️ During the 1965 Monaco Grand Prix, Hawkins' Lotus 33 struck the wooden barrier on entry to the chicane and spun through the hay bales into the water, again emerging unscathed.
