They’ve pollen asleep 😆
After hours of collecting nectar and pollen, bumblebees often become fatigued and some will seek refuge inside flowers. Flowers provide a safe, sheltered space, protecting bees from adverse weather conditions and predators.
This behavior is especially common in male bumblebees, who do not return to a nest after leaving to mate. Instead, they spend the night sleeping inside flowers. The petals and the structure of the bloom offer warmth and protection, allowing the bees to rest until the next foraging period.
