Alaska Airlines on Tuesday announced it was adding nonstop flights between Seattle and Rome next year, its first transatlantic route. The Italian capital was not previously served by an airport in the U.S. Pacific Northwest. It’s the third long-haul destination Alaska has added at its Seattle-Tacoma International Airport hub after Tokyo and Seoul. The newest route will be flown on the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
