Just days after Iowa confirmed its first case of measles, Gov. Kim Reynold has signed legislation that requires schools and child care facilities to share information about vaccine exemptions with parents. The law doesn’t add new exemptions to Iowa’s laws, but makes the information more readily available to parents. Medical professionals, including State Medical Director Robert Kruse, say the best tool to prevent measles is the measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine.
