Albin Thampy Kurian, third-year electrical and computer engineering student, says that peer-to-peer tutoring at Drexel's Academic Resource Center (ARC) has transformed his experience at Drexel, as a student and as a peer mentor.
Following a friend's advice, Kurian sought out tutoring services at the Academic Center for Engineerings (ACE), located in Drexel’s Academic Resource Center.
"It made it much easier for me to ask questions without hesitation," Kurian explains. "Sometimes, we're afraid to ask professors certain questions, worried they might seem too basic. But with a peer tutor, that barrier doesn't exist."
Inspired by his experience, Kurian became a tutor himself. Now, he assists fellow Dragons in a variety of subjects, including math, calculus and early-level ECE courses.
"There's a real satisfaction in seeing a student's face light up when they finally understand a concept," Kurian shares.
