Someone asked me what I was training for. My answer? Life.
Another person asked why I was suddenly increasing my running and daily steps. That one took me a minute to explain, and honestly, I’m still trying to make sense of it. Here’s what I’ve got so far…
I’m very comfortable with exercise.
I truly love movement and finding strength in my mind and body. While I can do this in many forms of training, running has never been one of them.
On another note, life outside of the gym? While most of it has been lovely, there are some things I’m trying to work through that feel very uncomfortable. I don’t quite know how to navigate them yet, but I’m trying.
So, I’m experimenting… I’m forcing myself into uncomfortable situations in a space where I already feel generally comfortable (i.e., exercise) in hopes of building a stronger mind & body response. By doing this, I’m hoping that when uncomfortable life situations surface, I’ll be better equipped to overcome them.
