Hundreds took to overpasses above Berkeley’s I-80 freeway June 14, joining protesters across the United States taking part in “No Kings” demonstrations. About 700 people gathered from approximately 11:45 a.m. to about 2:30 p.m.at the University Avenue and Gilman Street overpasses. Participants walked the overpass, chanting and holding homemade signs against the fencing of the bridges as they cheered at vehicles passing below.
