#AlumniAchievement: After receiving 56.14% of the vote in the June 7 runoff, John 'Trey' Bowers III '20, MBA (t.bow20) was elected to the Rowlett (TX) City Council Place 6, making him the first Black man to serve on the Rowlett City Council.
In the general election in May, Bowers received the most votes in the race, earning 43.47% of the vote, and he carried that momentum to the runoff.
Bowers is currently a Senior Associate in Firmwide Skills Development at JP Morgan Chase & Co. in Dallas. He earned a B.A. in economics and political science at Morehouse and served as the SGA President for the 2019-20 school year. His passion for strategic problem-solving and leadership then led him to further his education at Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business, where he obtained his MBA with a concentration in strategy.
