UTulsa students and faculty are researching ways to improve the environment and increase sustainability. In honor of #WorldEnvironmentDay, here's a look at 3️⃣ research projects that highlight these efforts: 🌍 A new era of solar energy at UTulsa: Students Joseph Blackstad, Alan Meyer, and Bradyn Combs worked to restore and improve an advanced solar energy conversion system that combines two cutting-edge technologies: concentrated solar power (CSP) and photovoltaics (PV). This hybrid system is designed to harness both the sun’s light and heat energy, aiming to generate electricity around the clock, not just when the sun is shining. 🌎 Biochemistry senior Joshua Le is researching electro-organic synthesis, finding a more sustainable process for making molecules to be used in polymers, pharmaceutical ingredients & more. 🌏 Making chemistry greener: UTulsa Professors Angus Lamar and Gordon Purser and undergraduate researchers Marlow Ennis, Audrey Iskandar, and Jenna Caudle developed ...
