Storms will develop in the
#Philadelphia region on Thursday afternoon, and the Storm Prediction Center has upgraded our region’s severe weather risk outlook to “enhanced,” or level 3 of 5.
Meteorologist tammie.souza says damaging winds, large hail, frequent lightning and downpours are the main threats, and there is a low but significant 2% risk of a possible spin-up tornado. Thursday is a NEXT Weather Alert Day for these storms.
Before that, Thursday will be hot with temperatures near 90 and high humidity making it feel like 100 degrees. The first day of summer, Friday, looks better with a high of 87 in the city before temperatures ramp up again.
