Though I graduated with a Journalism degree, I do not consider myself a photojournalist. But being Mexican American and from an immigrant family I felt it was important to see & capture the LA protest for myself. Standing shoulder to shoulder with fellow protesters chanting and marching, you could feel the tension in the air as you faced riot gear-clad officers.  In the 3 hours we protested, we were shot at, driven through, and tear-gassed. Regardless of this people stayed and protested til the night. Shot on Porta 160. 🎞️
