Photo by joelsartore | Lion-tailed macaques, like this male at Safari North Wildlife Park in Brainerd, Minnesota, safarinorth_wildlifepark, can only be found in the wild in the Western Ghats mountains in India. Family groups can be as large as 20 individuals. While multiple males may live together, only one is designated as the breeding male. As with most primates, males can be territorial and will let out a loud call to announce their presence. To see more species featured in the Photo Ark, follow me joelsartore.
