Behind the scenes with ilia_maltcev he always wanted to try to add movement to rigged onboard camera, and after seeing that rotating onboards in F1 movie trailers, he decided to give it a shot.
Managed to build a cool setup for these fast whip pans, perfect for jump cuts. Great thing is the speed with which Tilta Nucleus M motor is able to turn the GoPro. And that it is controlled remotely. Very happy with the result of first test.
You might ask, why just not use a 360 camera instead? And the answer is simple- motion blur. Putting an ND filter on 360 camera is not really possible, so the shutter speed will be high. A GoPro with Nd and right shutter speed will produce authentic motion blur from that panning motion and car’s movement.
Thank you guys
