A youthful and NWSL-fueled USWNT ran out 4-0 victors over Ireland in the first of two friendlies between the nations on Thursday evening. Rookie Avery Patterson opened her international scoring account in the 18th minute. A calm and commanding Sam Coffey doubled the lead just before halftime, while Rose Lavelle and Alyssa Thompson added a goal each after the restart. And it was a night of firsts as goalie Claudia Dickey and defenders Lilly Reale and Jordyn Bugg all earned their first caps. The USWNT and Ireland square off again on Sunday at TQL Stadium in Cincinnati, Ohio. . . . #uswnt #roselavelle #nwsl (📷Dustin Bradford/Getty Images)
