This is the reason I can never order a matcha at a coffee shop. Nothing will ever compare!!!
2-3 tablespoons strawberry syrup (recipe below)
1 teaspoon matcha powder
1/4 cup warm water (not boiling!)
1/3 cup almond milk
Ice
Strawberry syrup (makes about 1 cup):
1 cup freeze dried strawberries
3/4 cup warm water
2 tablespoon maple syrup
Instructions:
For the strawberry syrup, blend together the freeze dried strawberries, warm water, and maple syrup until fully blended. Store in an airtight container up to 1 week.
For the matcha, sift 1 teaspoon of matcha into a shallow bowl. Add 1/4 cup warm water and whisk or froth with an electric frother until no clumps remain.
Add 2-3 tablespoons of strawberry syrup to the bottom of a glass. Fill 3/4 of the way with ice then add almond milk. Top with the whisked matcha and enjoy!
