A car chase through Oakland and Berkeley ended with a collision between a stolen vehicle and a Berkeley Police Department, or BPD, patrol car this evening at the intersection of Haste Street and Shattuck Avenue. The chase began after two suspects stole a vehicle in Vallejo and fled into Oakland, where the Oakland Police Department, or OPD, took one suspect into custody. The other suspect carjacked another vehicle and fled into Berkeley, according to BPD Lieutenant Steve Rego. Several pedestrians were struck on College Avenue during the chase in Berkeley.
