💪🏼 HOW TO protect the ball. Here are three techniques to help you keep possession under pressure. 1. Transfer the ball onto your further foot! When a defender gets close, move the ball to the foot that’s furthest away from them. This puts your body between the ball and the defender, making it harder for them to win it back. It also gives you more space to work with and keeps you in control. 2. Use the furthest part of your foot! Once the ball is on your furthest foot, push it to the furthest part of your foot - like the outside of your foot - so it’s even harder to reach. The more distance you create between the ball and the defender, the better. 3. Use your arms to protect and feel for the defender. Your arms aren’t just for balance - they help you feel where the defender is without having to look. By extending your arm slightly, you can sense if they’re moving left or right.
