Life, liberty — and the pursuit of a previously private pond — will have to wait ‘til after Independence Day. A city newsletter published earlier this month says that Millennium Plaza Park’s lakefront area will be closed from next Thursday evening, July 3, through the morning of July 7, to ensure “public safety.” The closure is a de-facto temporary ban on public access, as all other docks and swim parks at Oswego Lake are either privately controlled or limited to those with easements or a city address.
