President Donald Trump called his Supreme Court victory the "big one" after justices voted 6-3 on Friday to limit federal judges' ability to block nationwide enforcement of executive orders, including getting rid of birthright citizenship. However, justices made clear they won't decide on the constitutionality of the president's executive order itself.
"Big one, wasn’t it? This was a big decision,” Trump said during a news conference at the White House, while calling the birthright citizenship ruling an “amazing" and "monumental victory for the Constitution."
The president added he will "promptly file" to proceed with numerous policies that have been wrongly enjoined on a nationwide basis.
The executive order was appealed on an "emergency basis" to the Supreme Court after three separate federal district court judges issued nationwide injunctions.
