Homegrown Together is a new support group for immigrant and refugee survivors. Immigration status is too often used as a weapon of abuse. Survivors are threatened with deportation, blocked from accessing legal status, or silenced into staying in violent situations. Trump-era policies made it worse: 🚫 ICE can now enter formerly protected spaces like shelters and mosques. 🏠 Survivor housing vouchers were slashed. 🛑 Deportations have expanded—even in sanctuary cities. These shifts leave immigrant survivors exposed, unsupported, and in fear. At the Asiyah Center, we’re creating a space to push back. Homegrown Together is a 10-session support group built to foster healing, safety, and community.
