You’ve probably seen this happening over the last decade…
In the 20-teens we witnessed this death of celebrity-driven marketing to influencer-driven marketing.
But as TikTok took over and the influencer status became hyper-accessible, we’re seeing a shift.
I saw some incredible athletes compete all weekend here at wodapalooza and it’s incredible to see the community and pull they carry.
Now this is all cyclical, right? We saw a boom in the 90’s with Nike and the NBA and again, Olympics. But the accessibility to influencer status is anchoring this trend toward the lack of shininess we have for influencers.
And I personally love this, because the off-ramp from elite athletics into the rest of life can be difficult to say the LEAST. Athletes leveraging their platforms into the rest of life is more accessible than ever before.
