Ava Galligani was promoted to the White Plains softball team as an eighth-grader, shouldering the pressure of high expectations, before eventually leading this once star-crossed program to its first Section 1 championship this spring. She now is spending a portion of her summer assisting her dad in coaching a local baseball and softball camp, when she isn’t working out or enjoying days at the beach.
