Still scooping at impact? Try this drill 🎯
If you struggle to create shaft lean or get that crisp, compressed contact…
You might be missing the lead wrist and arm mechanics that make it possible.
⸻
✅ Here’s the drill:
1️⃣ Attach a magnet to the clubface
2️⃣ Tip over a bucket of balls in front of you
3️⃣ Your goal? Point the magnet into the basket at impact
4️⃣ To do that, you’ll need to flex (bow) the lead wrist and supinate the lead arm
5️⃣ If you scoop or flip, the magnet points high — and the ball floats
⸻
💡 Why this matters:
Proper shaft lean doesn’t come from just pushing your hands forward.
It comes from educated hands, trail arm structure, and body rotation. This drill trains those feels — instantly.
⸻
⚠️ Common mistake:
Many players try to add shaft lean by just moving their hands forward.
That often leads to open clubfaces, steep downswings, and sequencing issues.
