Turtle Island has a superstar OTW ⭐️👀
Gavin McKenna (gavin_mckenna27), a generational talent from the Trʼondëk Hwëchʼin First Nation is expected to be selected first overall in next year’s NHL Entry Draft — and fans are already comparing his trajectory to Crosby, McDavid, and Bedard. 🔥🏒
Last season, McKenna racked up 129 points in 56 games for the Medicine Hat Tigers and earned the prestigious David Branch Award as
#CHL Player of the Year, becoming the third-youngest player ever to receive the honor.
Today, he committed to Penn State University, reportedly receiving a “generous” six-figure NIL offer, making him arguably the biggest NCAA hockey recruit in history.
At just 17 years-old, McKenna is already one of the northernmost hockey prodigies, and will undoubtedly be a source of pride and dominance for Indigenous hockey fans in the next generation. 🥅💥
Help us congratulate gavin_mckenna27! And which NHL team do you hope drafts him?! 💭⤵️
