We closed out our June programming by welcoming middle and high school students from Prince George's County Public Schools to the Civic Leaders program—a five-day civic learning initiative co-hosted by Close Up and PGCPS.    Over the course of the week, students deepened their understanding of democratic institutions, practiced persuasive communication, and developed the civic agency needed to effect change in their communities.    We are grateful to the University of Maryland for providing space for this work, to Vice Chairman of the Prince George’s County Board of Education Jonathan Briggs for leading a thoughtful seminar on college readiness, and to the educators and leaders of PGCPS for their commitment to preparing the next generation of engaged citizens!
