SWIPE! ⬅️ Takahiko Izawa, the founder of Rohan Izawa Art Design, has spent over a decade perfecting his groundbreaking “IZ METAL” liquid-metal paint, which he applies to full vehicle bodies and then meticulously hand-engraves using rotary tools, effectively “tattooing” cars with intricate, three-dimensional patterns.
Unlike traditional etched chrome finishes that degrade under UV exposure, IZ METAL remains durable, glossy, and resistant to discoloration, allowing Izawa to cover entire surfaces, not just parts, in rich metallic tones like silver, gold, and candy finishes.
The process is deeply complex: it begins with primer and careful surface grinding to carve out the design, followed by multiple layers of IZ METAL paint (often silver base plus colored candy sheens) with curing cycles at around 175 °F, and concludes with freehand engraving across each panel, preserving depth without reaching bare metal.
