St. Louis, MO - stlcitysc held off the rain and the timbersfc on their way to a much needed 3 points in front of another sellout crowd at Energizer Park Sunday Night. With his first MLS brace Marcel Harte hartel.fam led City to an impressive 2-1 win over a Timbers team sitting in 5th place in the Western Conference.
After a quick start by City with 3 early shot attempts in the first 10 minutes the Timbers weathered the storm. David Da Costa would put Portland up 1-0 in the 19th minute off a great run in by him and a defensive miscue from City. The score would remain tied through the end of the first half with Roman Burki rbuerki making a key save late on Da Costa again.
