Pesto Pasta Alla Vodka. Recipe by @halfbakedharvest but we added Italian Sausage to make it a bit more hearty. One of our go to week night meals. Recipe below -1lb Italian Sausage of choice -Olive Oil, few tablespoons -1 Shallot, finely diced -4 Cloves Garlic, minced -1 T Fresh Oregano or 1 tsp Dry -1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper -6oz Tomato Paste -4 oz Vodka, we used 50ML airplane bottle, all we had at house -3/4 C Basil Pesto -S&P to Taste -1 C Heavy Cream -1lb Pasta of choice -3 T Butter -1/3 C Parmesan Cheese plus extra for topping -1/4 C Basil, roughly chopped -Parsley for topping **Brown Sausage, drain and set aside **Large Skillet or Dutch Oven, medium low heat, add Olive Oil and heat for a few minutes. **Add Shallot for 2-3 minutes. **Add Garlic for 2-3 minutes. **Reduce heat to LOW **Add Tomato Paste and Red Pepper Flakes, cook 4-5 minutes **Add Vodka, let it cook off for a couple minutes **Add Pesto, cream, browned sausage stir and let it come together for 10 minutes.
