To mark the 10th anniversary of World Youth Skills Day on 15 July, UNESCO has launched the Skills for the Future Platform — a pioneering digital initiative developed with the support of KPMG International.
The platform responds to an urgent global crisis: 267 million young people aged 15–24 are not in employment, education, or training. It aims to create a centralized ecosystem for youth empowerment and lifelong learning.
With 22% of current jobs expected to be transformed by 2030 due to technological disruption, the platform helps equip young people with the skills they need to thrive in in a rapidly changing workforce. It brings together the private sector, philanthropies, and NGOs to improve employability and build resilience.
Key features of the platform include:
• An interactive dashboard to track global skilling efforts
• Tools to monitor progress toward the Sustainable Development Goals
• A commitment framework to support impactful youth development initiatives
