Behind the scenes 🚀 After powering 135 Space Shuttle missions and clocking over 1 million seconds of firing time, the RS-25 engine is one of the most tested rocket engines in history. Now, the legacy continues as the RS-25 engines help power NASA’s SLS (Space Launch System) rocket for Artemis missions. Early next year, four of these powerful engines will roar to life as the rocket sends NASA’s Orion spacecraft and four astronauts inside to the Moon during the first crewed Artemis mission.
