NBC passes on Native-led sitcom pilot. 💔 The untitled comedy from Sierra Teller Ornelas (sierraornelas), Jackie Keliiaa (jackiecomedy), and Bobby Wilson (bobbydues), directed by Tazbah Rose Chavez (tazbah) and set in a Native community center in Oakland, will not be moving forward at NBC. Filmed earlier this year, the show (codenamed “OKW Pilot”) featured a star-studded cast including Jana Schmieding (janaunplgd), Wes Studi (wesleystudie), Rachel Dratch (raedratch), Brian Bahe (brian_bahe), and more. “What we made was unlike anything that’s ever been done — a Native Network comedy. It was whip smart with real heart,” Ornelas shared in an Instagram post.
