An off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer was shot during a robbery in Riverside Park in Manhattan on Saturday by a suspect who entered the country illegally, according to the New York Police Department. Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, a 21-year-old undocumented immigrant from the Dominican Republic with a criminal past, was taken into custody after arriving at a Bronx hospital with a gunshot wound to the groin and leg.
