👀 A GREAT WAY to encourage and teach children to check their shoulders more regularly is… play more tag games!
Tag games are brilliant for getting children to check their shoulders without even realising.
There’s constant movement, pressure from behind, and players constantly changing direction. Scanning becomes a natural part of the game.
Encourage and prompt children to check their shoulders with simple questions like:
🗣️ “Who’s behind you?”
🗣️ “Where are the taggers? Can you see them? Do you know where they are?”
🗣️ “Can you spot where the taggers are without turning your whole body?”
The habits formed in tag games over time help children scan more confidently. Those habits can transfer directly into match play.
